Can you believe the year is almost finished? We took a look back at all the great data we’ve collected from our Match.com members in 2011, and compiled it into one (good lookin’) graphic. Dr. Helen Fisher, scientific advisor for Match.com and Chemistry.com, had this to say about the data: “Singles rocked in 2011—vigorously continuing their primordial search for passionate romantic love and an enduring partnership. And the Internet has clearly become a mainstream tool for finding ‘the one.’ Moreover, some entrenched myths about the sexes took a nose-dive: As it turns out, men fall in love faster than women; casual sex isn’t very casual; you can fall madly in love with someone weeks or months after meeting them; women plan to have it all—career and romance; seniors aren’t desperate or clingy; and the economy hasn’t squashed almost anyone’s drive to talk with a potential mate. Despite domestic and world affairs in 2011, that eternal flame–the brain’s appetite for romance–burned hot and bright.” Now that’s something we can cheers to!
