Stir Event Recap: Hitting the Slopes with Midnight Snow Tubing

stir snow tubing pic 1There are Stir events happening every night all over the country, and we wanted to share with you a few of our favorites each week. This week’s recap features a midnight snow tubing event in Woodbury, CT planned by our Northeast Regional Coordinator, Tricia. With two unique snow tubing courses designed to make tubing better and faster, members had a great time downing the steep slopes with other Stir singles!

The Nitty-Gritty

What: A midnight snow tubing event at the largest snow tubing park in New England, Woodbury Ski Area

Who: ~20 singles from the New Haven/Hartford vicinity

What Went Down

Upon arrival, members met in the lodge and mingled as the experts explained all the safety information and tricks to a safe and fun snow tubing experience. Then, everyone headed down to the snow tubing area and enjoyed 2+ hours of tubing and mingling with new friends. Members could choose from single, double or even a “family” tube to slide down the hill together– and everyone had a blast playing like kids in the snow!

Favorite Observation from the Night

From Tricia: “As a whole, the group really seemed to bond – everyone made new friends with a few stronger connections formed as well! The event seemed to naturally facilitate bonding; one of the attendees was a bit hesitant to go down the hill at all (she really came just to socialize), but by the end of the night, it was really fun to see how everyone encouraged her to go – she ended up trying it and had a blast!”
