What are three interesting facts/insights you’ve discovered about singles in your region?

  1. Men are quicker than women to sign up for dance events in Detroit!
  2. Singles in the Midwest really enjoy a variety of events, from cooking to dancing to mixology to bowling. The opportunities are endless!
  3. People love to bring friends to events in the Midwest.

What do you love most about planning events in your region?

I love that my job is different every single day.  There are so many moving pieces involved in event planning and they are all fun.  From finding the perfect venue to inviting the right group of people to customizing the message to reading and incorporating feedback, there are so many things to do. It’s a constantly evolving, ever-changing process.

What is one fact your coworkers might not know about you?

I am fluent in Pig Latin.  I can also rock a kazoo’s face off.

What are three interesting facts/insights you’ve discovered about singles in your region?

  1. Most of our events (e.g., wine pairings, cooking classes, bowling, dancing) fill up fastest among women with the exception of our outdoor hiking and biking events (although I hear from women all the time that they want more outdoor/non-alcohol events).
  2. What I find interesting is that the uptake of cooking classes among men is much slower than women – - however, these are the best events to meet women at!  Not only are women more likely to show up to cooking classes, but what woman doesn’t appreciate a man who can cook?! J
  3. The single fastest event sell out that I’ve seen thus far was a workshop on authentic relating in the context of dating.  The event filled up equally as fast among men and women which told me that EVERYONE out there navigating the dating scene can relate on (at least) one thing – - trying to figure out how they can better relate to people of the opposite sex in the context of the potential anxieties, awkwardness, etc. that can come with dating.  Surprise, we’re all human and experience these feelings at some point or another along the way.  ;)

What do you love most about planning events in your region?

I LOVE brainstorming and coming up with new event concepts with the partners I work, and when possible, using feedback we’ve gotten from members as a basis from which to address special requests or gaps we’re not currently filling.  I want members to go to these events and leave feeling fulfilled in the sense that they felt their time was well spent regardless of whether or not they met someone they plan on connecting with again.  I also love working with partners to think about creative event formats that we can apply to their activity in order to make it as interactive and engaging as possible for members who want to meet other singles.  I tell every single partner I work with that, in addition to offering a high quality event experience, Stir events should ensure that members get in front of as many people of the opposite or same sex as possible (depending on gender seek) throughout the course of the event.

What is one fact your coworkers might not know about you?

I’m learning how to play the electric guitar and I love to ride fast motorcycles.

What are three interesting facts/insights you’ve discovered about singles in your region?

  1. Texas singles LOVE beer and volunteering
  2. Colorado singles prefer to be outdoors
  3. Men always sign up last minute for events

What do you love most about planning events in your region?

I love exposing people to unique parts of their city that they didn’t know about before attending a Match.com event, like art classes at Oil & Cotton in the Bishop Art District in Dallas or local beer tastings at 512 Brewing Company in Austin.

What is one fact your coworkers might not know about you?

I definitely dance at my desk with my headphones on when I hear a song I love.

What are three interesting facts/insights you’ve discovered about singles in your region?

A DC woman is a go-getter in business and in love. It’s her race to a Stir happy hour in the captivating Georgetown or DuPont, with the female competition a plenty. While Arlington singles pursue the opportunity to expand their culinary repertoire with the guidance of a chef instructor, Philadelphia natives tend to enjoy the allure of a cozy wine cellar where sampling fine wine leads to fine conversation.

What do you love most about planning events in your region?

I have appreciation for culture, diversity, and the dedicated professional who works hard and anticipates a wholesome playtime experience. Singles in the Mid-Atlantic are refined intellectuals with little time to spare, the social appetite that employs utmost ingenuity and the expectation of unique events to provide relevancy in attracting a highly desirable match.

What is one fact your coworkers might not know about you?

I was a competitive figure skater in my teenage years.

What are three interesting facts/insights you’ve discovered about singles in your region?

Many people in the southeast are open to trying new events. They are willing to step out of their comfort zone and meet other singles that are looking to do the same thing. They are also very active and have active social lives, which they are willing and open to trying new events and activities.

What do you love most about planning events in your region?

I love the southern nature that each venue has throughout the southeast. It is also interesting to see the diversity that each city has, and allows for the ability to have creative events!

What is one fact your coworkers might not know about you?

I love sports, especially hockey!

What are three interesting facts/insights you’ve discovered about singles in your region?

I think this applies in most areas of the US, but…

  1. Men sign up slowly and are generally more apt to participate in events where liquor is involved or active events (laser tag, outdoorsy things).
  2. Wine and oysters are always a hit!
  3. Singles in the Northeast are adventurous – always willing to try new things (and make a drive to get there, if needed).

What do you love most about planning events in your region?

The Northeast comes packed with a lot of cool cities and fun things to do. My favorite things about this region are the unlimited possibilities – from outdoorsy events (snow tubing and zip-lining) to GREAT food/wine events along with really cool historical spots to hold events – like batting cages at Fenway Park, Mark Twain House ghost tours and making pizza with the pros at Frank Pepe’s in New Haven.

What is one fact your coworkers might not know about you?

My grandfather was the artist who created Elise (from Borden’s) and Elmer the cow (the school glue). Most people don’t know they were designed to be lovebirds. :)

What are three interesting facts/insights you’ve discovered about singles in your region?

  1. Singles in NYC like unique, contemporary, and adventurous events
  2. Women outnumber men 2 to 1
  3. We like a late start! Singles events do much better in NYC when they start closer to 8pm, rather than your usual happy hour window.

What do you love most about planning events in your region?

The potential to do something really different. Sky’s the limit for NYC and there is so much we can still do in order to have some really fantastic and unique events for singles. So many singles on Match are located in NYC, and each person has a different interest. The ability to cater to those individual interests is very exciting.

What is one fact your coworkers might not know about you?

I have an extensive background in theater.

We’ll be featuring a new Stir event each week on the Match.com blog to show off all our interesting and unique singles events, so be sure to check back each Thursday!
