I found my husband on match and I winked at him. He wrote me back pretty quickly and we emailed back and forth a few times before he asked me out on a date. I really liked that he didn’t delay or drag out the emailing. We went to a cool and classy bar for a drink after work. I knew right away that I liked him a lot. He was different than I was expecting, but I was so glad I had contacted him. After that we only communicated via text or phone calls. After a couple months it was clear we were boyfriend and girl friend and I pretty much wanted to spend all my time with him. A few months later we were talking marriage and living together.
We went on a big trip to South America in February, our 9th month of dating and while on top of Machu Picchu, he got down on one knee and proposed. It was an amazing moment I won’t ever forget. One of the happiest days of my life. He had carried a beautiful diamond ring around S. America in his pocket for over a week. The people all around us started clapping and he had captured it all on video. Our flight back to the U.S. was filled with planning how we were going to tell our friends and family, and of course planning our wedding! On Sept. 1, we were married amongst many family and friends and had the best day of our lives. We sometimes forget how we met until people ask us. For us, match did exactly what it is supposed to, it lead us to each other and we took it from there. For some it might seem like we moved a little fast, but I think the way match is set up it helps you find someone with common values and interests, so you start off with that solid foundation.
