There are very few singles events in Northern MI. I am very disappointed in Match and how they used my profile and mislead so many people. It is just wrong.IF someone is not a member then it should be noted and to wink at people without the members consent is just wrong! Internet is a great way to meet people but I am warning everyone I can about how it works before they pay for being used.

I find the ad very dubious — seems like it features a lot of women in their thirties who are trying too hard to feign enjoyment at being at what looks like a fairly ordinary singles event. I like cooking with friends but I don’t laugh hysterically while doing it.

Why nothing in phx? only ny & sf? Lame.

Joy your verifying what I have always suspected about these sites being a scam. If someone is naive enough to buy into the match.com hype they might think that a hot date with a beautiful single is just a click away. I bet the people I see in the stir commercials are all models. These sites are no more legitimate than the weight loss info commercials. You will lose a lot of time and money and still be lonely and over weight. These people just prey on the dreams of others.

I agree with Erik….the events button is useless. You cant even search for stir parties in areas near where you live. Its B.S.

Just got back from my first Stir event..Match said there would be 120 men that RSVP’d,the men said it showed about the same for women attending but there were less than that between men and women. Everyone appeared to have
brought a friend or friends including myself. The women were friendlier than than men. Ages were all over the place and it was evident from the minute I walked in that there wasn’t a guy in there interested in the same type of activities as I was. Everyone was nice and respectful but no one seem to be connecting on a personal level. It was along way to drive for a night out with the girls, would try another zip code next time.

I have attended one stir event. I was happy with the amount of and quality of people at the event, but it seemed like guys were just talking to guys and girls were just talking to girls. We need something that will actually “stir” us up! Even though everyone is there for the same reason, it is still difficult to walk up to random person and begin a conversation.

I wonder how a Stir Event would work for an older gentelman? I will be 68 in January of 2013. I have tried the online meeting with little luck. I believe I would be less intimidated in public with ladies I know are single.
