So about 8 months ago, I was sitting around a campfire with my friends complaining about the fact that there was zero chance of me meeting anyone in my small town. This is when a good friend of mine suggested Match. Of course I thought it was a silly idea and refused to sign up… well, sorta. After a week or two went by I decided to make a free profile just to see who was out there. If I saw some potential matches I’d pay for a few months.
When I saw Katy, I thought “Wow, that girl is beautiful.” I thought her personality sounded great from what I read and she looked gorgeous in all of her photos. I decided to join specifically to contact her. After only a few emails back and forth we decided to meet for coffee. Within minutes I knew she was amazing. We followed up our initial meeting with a dinner date the next week and the rest is history. We quickly fell in love (within 3 short weeks!) and have been falling deeper in love ever since. On March 17th of this year I asked her to marry me and she said YES!
The coolest part about our whole relationship is how we ended up together. She had moved out to New York from the West coast just for the summer and was planning on heading back in January. Turns out, God had different plans. She decided to stay after meeting me and we will be spending the rests of our lives together. Couldn’t be happier!!!
Who reached out to who?
I emailed her. Turns out so did everyone else on match.com practically. She said she responded to me because I used good grammar. I knew being an honors student in high school would eventually pay off. She also said she’d received 200 emails in like 2 weeks on Match (while I received only 3…this was a bruise to the ego).
What was your first date?
Met for coffee to chat. Our first dinner date was at a nice restaurant followed by drinks.
