Amazing how expensive dating can get. $50 a date is actually not that uncommon anymore. If you think about it that’s a movie, snacks, and sodas, or a decent diner. But it’s always good to get a little inventive on first dates and stay away from movies, or restaurants. Sitting in a movie theater doesn’t allow for much conversation so you can’t get to know each other and building a connection with the other person is the best way to get to the second date.

I agree that I may be one of those 75 % of ladies who might not want to go to a fancy restaurant on a date, but only if you mean first date. I love going out and am not intimidated by fancy places or prices.

I love an excuse to dress up and if I am dating a guy who has an appreciation for good restaurants as well, that would be great!

Also, I don’t think I would be cool with a guy paying with a coupon on the first date, but maybe later on I would be cool with that….

I’ve found that the less money a man spends on a date, the more likely he is to sleep with a woman. The more money he spends, the more resistance a woman puts up because she sees the man as a “provider” rather than a lover. In other words, she puts him on the boyfriend track and makes him invest more time and money.

On the other hand, a man shouldn’t be cheap. Planning a fun, cheap date requires creativity but it’s worth it because at the end of the day, you want the date to be about getting to know each other, not about paying to get in her pants.

I think a first date should be for a cup of coffee or drink. What if you had a 2 hour dinner engagement planned, and you both knew it just wasn’t going to work when you first saw each other. No thanks, i’ll just prefer something simple and quick on a first date.

This is a great graphic, but it’d be nice to see some more stats from the guys’ perspectives. Also, how about redoing it and asking for info on the 5/6th date when things are a bit more serious and not so much about impressions?
